Family Reunion

To meet other people was the Dark Sovereign's one mission. He wanted to see how humans acted, meet new people, and even see friendly entities - or ones that wouldn't hurt him, at least. As he walked around his home, he decided that today was a day to explore the outside; it had been a few months since he was last out, after all. He turned to where his Whispers were playing around, sitting down beside them.

I'm thinking about going out of my domain again. Where do you little whispers wish to go?

Ooh! Can we go to a school?
What about a farm? That would be cool!
I think going to a game show would be so fun!

They kept bickering and throwing out suggestions to one another, filling the air with places to go. They really did sound and act like children, no matter the age of the person they came from.

Enough, enough. Let us take this slowly and hear one another. There are too many ideas floating in the air currently.

But there isn't anything in the air…

It's a figure of speech, little one.

What about a library?

Which library? There are most likely thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of libraries scattered throughout the Backrooms. I know of only two.

Which ones do you know?
Yeah, I wanna know! I wanna know too!

He only chuckles and gets up. He knew about Level 153, which was more akin to a shop than a library, and Level 906, or Blanche's Library. He did not really know how to get to Level 153, but he learned about how to enter Level 906 by friends through the M.E.G. and passing talk from wanderers, though he had never tried it himself. He was always afraid that his touch would destroy the book and render it redundant, but now that he had discovered how to protect his hands from others, he might have a better chance to reach there.

I know the perfect place. It's time to introduce ourselves to someone new.

Yay! I love meeting new people!
This is gonna be fun!
Where are we going?!

That is a secret, little one. What you can know is that you will enjoy this person. She is very kind, from what I hear.

The Sovereign then stabs his sword into the ground and no-clips into Level 11…

In a highly populated area of the Endless City, a column of black smoke erupts from the ground, and the Sovereign climbs out of it. Many people shiver subconsciously from the sudden freezing chill that came from the beast, and others simply nodded his way. He did the same, nodding and slightly bowing in some's direction.

This is just the city!

Patience, little one. It will take some time to reach our destination.

They were definitely impatient, some of those whispers. He stumbled at some points almost calling them children, but they had no biological relation to him. To be fair, did that really matter? Even though they have no bodies, these whispers can fade away and disappear forever if they were in danger. He might have to start calling them such should he continue caring for these voices that stay.

I hope it isn't gonna take foreverrrrr
Me too! I wanna see something cool!

They all quiet down as the Sovereign is approached by a group of wanderers who look like they're up to no good. They glance at the beast, with a few looking back at one another. They seemed to be wondering if they can take the beast down, and the Sovereign recognized the red and black emblem on their shoulders. Whether or not they were going to try to fight would be up to them; he wasn't going to instigate it.

Good day.

The people stopped as he passed, and the Sovereign kept walking. He suddenly got hit in the head with something, and he turned to see one of those people holding a makeshift throwing knife. He could feel something running down the back of his head, and as he dislodged the knife he could see a bright white liquid covering the tip. Blood.

You have no power here, mortals. Do you wish to die on this hill? Trying to take down the Dark Sovereign?

"We'll take you down one day, and today might be it."

A man soon steps in between the two parties, his long cloak and dark clothing separating the sidewalk they stood on.

"There is no need to fight here. Put down your weapons, U.E.C., and leave this being be. You are outnumbered."

The man would be no other than Viktor Valentin who stood in front of the Sovereign, and beside him stood a ten man party of Sentinels. The members of the U.E.C. scoff and leave, and Viktor turns to the Sovereign. He takes off his glove and offers a handshake. The Sovereign accepts it.

"It's good to see you out, my friend."

Likewise, Viktor. It's been quite some time.

Viktor would turn to the Sentinels and wave them away, and they dismiss themselves to return to their tasks. He would also put his glove back on and turn, motioning for the Sovereign to follow him. the being does so, walking along side Viktor.

"What brings you here, to Level 11?"

We're looking for a library!
Our liege says that he knows a library that he wants to go to, but he won't tell us!
Yeah, he says it's a surprise!

"Well, I've got many libraries within my outposts alone. The data there is essentially comparable to one. Which library are you looking for, Sovereign?"

I am trying to reach Blanche Von Haderach. I have not met her yet, and I've heard great things about her. Though, there is also another reason… one more personal.

"May I ask what that reason would be?"

The Sovereign remains silent, unknowing if what he was trying to do would actually work.

"I apologize if I struck a hard sp-"

My sisters.

Viktor would slow his walking slightly, surprised at the sudden mention of his sisters. For all he knew, they were dead, completely absorbed into the realm of the Backrooms.

"Your sisters? I thought they passed."

Not completely.

The Sovereign took off his crown and presented it to Viktor, and all four crystals shined brightly. To all others they'd be white, but since Viktor had been touched by the Sovereign, he could also see the colors of each crystal. They almost had a luminosity to them, and the items had a sort of… presence to them. It was so unexplainable he didn't believe if it was happening, but the small interaction gave his clicking mind so many questions.

"I… see. You wish to bring them back, yes? Blanche is your best option then, most certainly. I do hope I could help, but I'm afraid I only have limited information of the past."

I thank you for your offer to help regardless. It means the world to me.

"Well, I assume you don't have a book of Blanche's lying around, so use this one."

Viktor reaches into his cloak and removes a book, and the Sovereign prepares the turquoise coating over his hands. Viktor offers the book to the Sovereign and the being takes it, opening the cover.

How exactly does this work?

"Simply drag your finger across her name. Try not to rip the page, I know those claws are sharp."

The Sovereign laughs and looks down at Viktor. He admired this man. Someone who survived his horrific touch and went on to make a massive organization that protected so many people. He smiled before dragging his finger across Blanche's name and no-clipping into Level 906.

The Sovereign blinks, and he then finds himself standing within Level 906. The Library was absolutely gargantuan compared to his domain, and he turned to look at it all in awe. The sheer amount of books that were here… if they were all different, he could sit here and read until the end of time should he wish to do so. The whispers couldn't handle their excitement, floating around everywhere and checking out the new place.

This is SO COOL!
Look at all the books! This is amazing!
History, fantasy, autobiographies,
I bet we could read here forever! Imagine all the stories there are!
…science fiction, documentaries, reports…

The Sovereign would chuckle, and he understood their joy at last. It was fun to be here, and it was shocking to see what the Library had to offer. He looked down at the book he had used to get here and looked at the title.

"Roads through the Backrooms." Viktor, you sly dog.

"Greetings, traveler."

A woman would have suddenly appeared to the right of the Sovereign, wearing a beautiful dress and a soft, friendly demeanor. The Sovereign turned and got on one knee, bowing to the woman.

A pleasure to meet you, Lady Blanche. Ever since hearing about you through passing talk I have wanted to see you in person.

"Oh, welcome!"

She would give a bow as well, her right arm going across her torso.

"Who may you be, and how can I help you?"

The Sovereign would rise, cracking his neck as he stood towering over her.

I am the Dark Sovereign, from "Level 197." I've been meaning to meet you for some time now, as your name has garnered quite a reputation amongst the dimensions. Suffice to say it is an honor, being-to-being. Though you feel familiar somehow…

As the Sovereign went into thought, Blanche would tilt her head curiously. She could see many pairs of white dots floating around him and herself, going all across the library and looking at everything possible. One stopped in front of her and looked her in the eyes, and she smiled back at it. She could feel almost a childish side to these little entities, as if they were younger than they should be following the Sovereign. Regardless, a visitor is a visitor, and she held her hand out to it.

"Hello, little one. What is your name?"

Wait, you can see me?! That's so cool!

"Have you never had someone greet you?"

No one can see me other than him, I thought! But my name is… uh, what is my name?
It's Rachel, dummy! How can you forget your own name?
It just happens, I guess! But yeah, I'm Rachel!
And I'm Victoria!
I like to go by Azazel!

She would chuckle from all of the kids now surrounding her, and the Sovereign sighed with relief. It's good for them to finally see someone else other than him and be able to interact. They were starting to get a little on edge.
